Farm Chakra was born in Nizamabad, the rice bowl of Telangana, amidst 5 lakh acres of agricultural fields.
We have been farming since Jan 2020 and have been through six crops cycle and a ton of learning along the way. We are a hands-on farming company. Yes we plough the land, transplant the nursery, deweed our fields, spray nutrients, get into the field to look for pests, and basically get our hands dirty.

In June 2021, we forayed into Crop Equity Investment and onboarded our first cohort of crop investors. We grew Paddy, Maize, Green Gram at scale and experimented with Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Watermelon, Groundnut and Ridge gourd.
As with any pilot, we had some hits and misses - our yields were off from forecasted outcomes — we thought the delayed monsoon had a huge role to play, we later found out that our seed source was not reliable, our crop nutrition and crop protection plan was insufficient. The silver lining in that season was our quality of paddy — it was certified residue-free and cleared US-FDA!
For the second crop, we used first principles for every decision we made and interacted with various stakeholders across the farming spectrum – right from seed manufacturers, agri machinery manufacturers, progressive farmers, fertilizer and pesticide companies etc. After 14000km on the road, we were thrilled when we closed Rabi 2022 with a positive operational profit!
